  8.  AB    San Baipi. root of Morus alba L. (Moraceae) is a traditional Chinese
  9.        medicine for cough, asthma and other diseases. The alcohol extract of
  10.        San Baipi displayed activity against HIV in vitro. Solvent partition,
  11.        fractionation on CC and preparing TLC provided three anti-HIV
  12.        flavonoids: morusin, kuwanon H and morusin-4'-glucoside. The results of
  13.        anti-HIV test of morusin, kuwanon H and their derivatives indicated that
  14.        the site between 2-free hydroxy and 3-y,y-dimethylallylic group of these
  15.        flavonoids was sensitive to photo-oxidation, and contributed to anti-HIV
  16.        activity. This paper is the first report on preparing, physical data,
  17.        anti-HIV activity and cytotoxicity of morusin-2'-glucoside,
  18.        morusin-4'-glucoside, kuwanon H-6'-aoctare kuwanon H-7-aoetate and
  19.        triacetate mulberrofuran D.
